MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT WORKER

Summary:
Family Service League is seeking a full-time Skill Builder for our Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) program.
The Skill Builder will provide Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) to support youth's mental health needs.
Activities are hands on and based on the youth's identified treatment goals.
Responsibilities:
Conduct weekly meetings with youth in their home and community.
Develop Treatment Plan Goals.
Help the youth develop skills towards goals identified; focus primarily on activities, which will help the child achieve age-appropriate tasks and function appropriately within the home and community.
Engage in a variety of activities with the youth, including discussions, role play, games, and art activities in order to accomplish these tasks.
Document in the Electronic Health Records and engage in regular communication with team members.
Participate in weekly supervision and monthly staff meetings.
Transport the youth as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma, High School equivalency, or a State Education Commencement Credential and a minimum of two years' experience in children's mental health, addiction and/or foster care; or a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Services field required.
Knowledge of mental health conditions required.
Strong engagement, judgement, and problem-solving skills required.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to be creative and present ideas and skills in a variety of ways required.
Ability to work both independently, as well as on a team required.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records required.
Valid and clean New York State Driver's License and own a reliable car that is properly insured, registered, and maintained to drive from worksite to worksite required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
